Moving to the Mohawk Valley
Utilities, schools, DMV offices, voter registration, trash and recycling, and property tax basics for Oneida and Herkimer counties.
Last reviewed: October 10, 2026
A checklist for settling in to Oneida or Herkimer County. It covers who provides electric and water service and how to start it, which school districts serve each community, where to handle DMV business, how to register to vote, and where to turn for trash, recycling and property tax questions. Every entry links to the official office or agency so you can confirm details before you go.
