Story Time at the Old Forge Library
FamilyThe Old Forge Library welcomes little ones and their families to six Fall Story Time sessions, on Fridays from October 2 through November 6, from 10:15 -11 am. These fun-filled sessions are created especially for children ages 3 to 6, and each 45-minute Story Time includes stories, games, crafts, creative play, songs, and activities that spark imagination and encourage learning. Younger children are welcome, too, though toddlers need to have an adult with them. Story Time has been a beloved tradition at the Old Forge Library for many decades. It's a special part of early childhood for many in the community and continues to bring families together through a love of reading and play. To help with planning, registration is encouraged. The library usually prepares for a few extra participants and will always find a way to welcome walk-ins. To register, call 315-369-6008 or email oldforge@midyork.org.

Tales N' Tunes play group
FamilyThe Dolgeville-Manheim Public Library welcomes you to: The “Toddler Tales ‘N Tunes” program for ages birth to 5 years old, which takes place on Fridays. We will follow the Dolgeville Central School (DCS) schedule when children are in attendance. We will not meet when DCS is closed or when there is a Superintendent’s Conference Day. (We will however, meet when there are morning half-days and also when there is a 1- or 2-hour delay.) Parents/Guardians/Adults are welcome to use the room/toys when we aren’t there (and no one else is using it) as long as they pick up when they leave. Our clientele has been mostly children ages three and younger, so we are focusing on socialization, a very easy craft activity (like playdough) with the last 15 minutes on snack, stories, songs, movement, and trying to stretch attention spans. We will be assisted by Joann Zilkowski, the DCS R4K (Ready for Kindergarten navigator) and Sarah Williams-Herringshaw, Connected Community Schools coordinator. It is free and open to the public, No registration needed, but we do ask you to stop by the circulation desk before going upstairs, to check in there first.

FamilyBring your friends, show off your skills, and compete for bragging rights! Whether you're a cornhole pro or have never played before, everyone is welcome.
Kids' Book Club
FamilyJoin us as we discuss kid-chosen books, chapter by chapter. When we finish a book we vote on the next one so that you will have a chance to read about something you like and would like your friends to read as well. We are meeting at this time because we don't want to create conflicts with school sports. We have in the past met on Thursdays at 3:30 to 4:30pm, so eventually the time may change, but you will have lots of heads up before that happens. Please keep in mind that we follow the school schedule for this program, so if there is no school on a particular Thursday, we will not be meeting that day. We are currently reading "Matilda" by Roald Dahl.
Unplug & Play Tabletop Games
FamilyTwo nights a month and once on a Saturday, the library encourages patrons ages eight and up to turn off their TVs, smartphones, computers, and video games and join others at the library to play board games and card games. We call this Unplug & Play, and we hold it regularly on the FIRST THURSDAY, the SECOND SATURDAY, and the THIRD TUESDAY of each month. The library has a large collection of games to choose from, and participants are also encouraged to bring games of their own they might like to play or share. We also feature a collection of 100+ games for all ages that may be checked out and taken home or played in the library. More information is on the "GAMES" page on the library's website: https://sites.google.com/midyork.org/ro-games/home

We are partnering with our friends at superofficial (our neighboring coffee shop) to bring this special show back for a second year, and as always they will be making breakfast treats, coffee, lattes, matcha lattes and anything else you might want right inside the Capitol Theatre for the entire duration of the show! We’re also featuring a variety of vendors that you can check out throughout the show. Doors will open at 9:00am with the show beginning at 10:00am. The show runs just over 2 hours from start to finish (with a 10 minute intermission between episodes 5 and 6). We will be running the entire show through twice with the second showing beginning at 1:00pm and running until approximately 3:15pm including an intermission. Your ticket will allow you admission into the theater for the day, so, whether you want to watch the program all the way through twice, take some time to check out all the vendors upstairs, leave after the first screening, or join us just for the second screening–or any variation you can think of–your ticket will let you do exactly that!
