Teen Volunteer Hours
FamilyThis event is for teens who need volunteer hours for honor society or other organizations, or teens who want to try volunteering without making a long-term commitment. Past volunteer activities include: assembling craft kits, dusting shelves, making book displays, painting boxes, organizing and labeling books, and more. You do not need to be an established volunteer or fill out paperwork for this event. Please contact smarkham@midyork.org with any questions.
Nature Club

For the Love of Books

Unplug & Play Tabletop Games
FamilyTwo nights a month and once on a Saturday, the library encourages patrons ages eight and up to turn off their TVs, smartphones, computers, and video games and join others at the library to play board games and card games. We call this Unplug & Play, and we hold it regularly on the FIRST THURSDAY, the SECOND SATURDAY, and the THIRD TUESDAY of each month. The library has a large collection of games to choose from, and participants are also encouraged to bring games of their own they might like to play or share. We also feature a collection of 100+ games for all ages that may be checked out and taken home or played in the library. Pumpkin Patch Paint & Play

Halloween Trail
FamilyThe Annual Halloween Trail will take place on Thursday, October 22nd, with a few new (community-requested) tweaks! For Stations: Station registration is now open! Join us as a group/organization/business or as a volunteer individual for another year of creating Halloween magic together as a community! Please read the form for details and register HERE. For Guests: - This trail is geared towards elementary school-aged children, Pre-K - 5th grade. Younger guests are welcome, and 6th & 7th graders can participate as kids in costumes or register as a volunteer and help out. - Coming Soon Register for a time to walk the trail. If you are not registered, you can wait for an open time at either 7:20 pm or 7:40 pm. Please note, there is a maximum of 25 people per time-slot, and children must be accompanied by a caregiver. - Costumes are encouraged and part of the fun! Just keep them in the E for Everyone range: no gore, blood, weapons, or nightmare-inducing items. - The trail will wind a path through the inside of the library and (weather permitting) exit through the gardens. - New this year! The Boy Scouts will host their Scary Trail along Owen's Nature Trail. This is a great option for those who do enjoy a good scare! Walk this trail in addition to the community trail inside the library, or choose which option best works for you.

Lions Club Story Hour
FamilyMark your calendars for a wonderful Story Hour! Hosted by the Boonville NY Lions Club, this special event will feature a fantastic story and a fun activity for the kids. We can’t wait to see you there! So, make plans to join us for a great time!
Baby Sensory Play
FamilyActivities encourage language development, fine and gross motor skills, problem-solving skills, and social interaction! Older siblings are welcome.
The Haunted Library After Dark
FamilyWe'll talk about the book, take a flashlight tour of the library after dark, and enjoy some fun surprises along the way. The Haunted Library is a short chapter book recommended for ages 6–9. This program is intended for ages 5–10 with one or more grown-ups. Pajamas are encouraged! Registration is limited to 10 families. You only need to register your family as a group. Copies of the book are available to borrow at the desk after you register. Every program at the library is free and open to all, made possible by the generosity of volunteers, sponsors, donors, and library resources.
Stroller Safari: Water Water Everywhere
Family75-minute pre-opening mini zoo tour, book reading, ambassador turtle experience and craft for children ages 0-5, with the Mom Walk Collective of Utica.
Costume Parade
