Two nights a month and once on a Saturday, the library encourages patrons ages eight and up to turn off their TVs, smartphones, computers, and video games and join others at the library to play board games and card games. We call this Unplug & Play, and we hold it regularly on the FIRST THURSDAY, the SECOND SATURDAY, and the THIRD TUESDAY of each month. The library has a large collection of games to choose from, and participants are also encouraged to bring games of their own they might like to play or share. We also feature a collection of 100+ games for all ages that may be checked out and taken home or played in the library. More information is on the "GAMES" page on the library's website: https://sites.google.com/midyork.org/ro-games/home

Sunday Morning Cartoons: Over the Garden Wall

Sun, Oct 11, 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Rome Capitol Theatre • Rome

Get your Spooky Season started right and join us for a special Sunday Morning of Autumnal Cartoon perfection as we screen the entirety of OVER THE GARDEN WALL not once but TWICE back-to-back! We are partnering with our friends at superofficial (our neighboring coffee shop) to bring this special show back for a second year, and as always they will be making breakfast treats, coffee, lattes, matcha lattes and anything else you might want right inside the Capitol Theatre for the entire duration of the show! We’re also featuring a variety of vendors that you can check out throughout the show. Doors will open at 9:00am with the show beginning at 10:00am. The show runs just over 2 hours from start to finish (with a 10 minute intermission between episodes 5 and 6). We will be running the entire show through twice with the second showing beginning at 1:00pm and running until approximately 3:15pm including an intermission. Your ticket will allow you admission into the theater for the day, so, whether you want to watch the program all the way through twice, take some time to check out all the vendors upstairs, leave after the first screening, or join us just for the second screening–or any variation you can think of–your ticket will let you do exactly that! Purchase tickets for the 10:00am showing here. Purchase tickets for the 1:00pm showing here.
