Your Digital Handshake
CommunityYour résumé isn't the only thing employers may see when they're considering you for a job. In today's job search, your online presence can make a first impression before you ever walk through the door. Join First Choice Staffing for a practical, hands-on workshop covering LinkedIn, social media, and your digital footprint - without all the corporate jargon. We'll cover: How to build a LinkedIn profile that actually helps your job search What employers are looking for when they find you online Writing a better LinkedIn headline and "About" section Using keywords to help the right employers find you What to do (and what to think twice about) when it comes to social media How to Google yourself and see what a potential employer sees Using LinkedIn to network without feeling like you're bothering people Simple ways to make your online presence work for you instead of against you Bring your phone or laptop! We'll spend part of the workshop making real-time updates and improvements to your online presence. You don't need to be a LinkedIn expert — or even like LinkedIn. The goal is simply to make it easier for the right employer to find you and understand what you bring to the table. Every program at the library is free and open to all, made possible by the generosity of volunteers, sponsors, donors, and library resources.
